Hello Beautiful People,
Welcome to 2026!! It's been an interesting start to this year, hasn't it. I suppose how you look at this first month all depends on where you put your focus. The Lord has taught me that keeping my mind steady on Him and His Blessings is the only way to flow in joy. Well, let me share with you a show that has recently brought me all the good, warm feels. As the title suggests, that show is: DYNAMITE KISS!

DYNAMITE KISS is a Korean limited series that is featured on Netflix. It reached the "Top 10" in many countries (including the USA) for good reason. Yes, yes, yes I am aware that the show came out months ago; but I didn't watch it then (SN: I was too busy diving head first into Heartland and its 18 seasons....we'll talk about that in a later post). Thankfully though, I did decide to give it a watch during the cold snowy weather. Let me tell you, I would've been warm even outside in the freezing cold watching this because it just makes me feel mushy and sappy in the best way. If you want to maintain a cold, empty heart do not watch this show because it will thaw even the iciest of people. If you, however, value being a kind-hearted, loving person run to watch this romantic dramedy immediately! (SN: I already know you're the second person bcuz we in the ColorFull Community value warmth and coziness!).
DYNAMITE KISS stars Ahn Eun-jin as Go Da-rim (the kind, scrappy yet self-critical Female Lead) and Jang Ki-yong as Gong Ji-hyeok (the intense, ruthless yet warm-hearted Male Lead). Babyyyyy, they did THAT *insert clapping here* like realllyyyyy did THAT!! I'm usually not into pretty boys; but the character Ji-hyeok is certainly a welcome exception. Actor Ki-yong played him with the perfect balance of raw intensity and light-hearted fun. The character is pretty much the definition of a wealthy ass at first; but you get to walk through his transformation as he realizes his strength doesn't come from being severe and closed-off but from being open and caring. Opposingly, the character Da-rim is found in an extremely trying financial and personal bind. She has no understanding of her own strength until she's forced to discover it. We get to see her transform from questioning her every move to confidently embracing her leadership ability. The actor Eun-jin plays her beautifully as she alternates between frustrating and enchanting the audience with her choices.
DYNAMITE KISS, most importantly, takes us on a winding, surprising journey of two characters falling in love with themselves and each other. Their self-love isn't dependent on their romantic love; yet their potential romance does lead to moving self-discoveries. Any healthy relationship holds up a mirror to both parties, challenging and affirming their self-perceptions. The show did a fantastic job of playing that out. I'm telling you, you will fall in love with the characters' personal and joint journey beacause it's real and honest. Are there kitchy, corny moments ...i.e. slow motion falls, unrealistic circumstances, and long, deep stares... yes, there are. However, they only add to the show's charm and don't diminish the relatability. Because it's a 14 episode mini-series, a complete, fully fleshed out story is told. You will walk away content, happy-sighing, and smiling. It's so well done, I fully intend to watch it again. I can only do that when a show is intelligent and enchanting; and this one fully pasts muster.
DYNAMITE KISS receives Five Stars from me. Let me know if this article compelled you to watch or how you liked it if you already have watched. Excuse me while I pour myself a drink and cozy up under a blanket on the couch to rewatch the swoon-worthy masterpiece that is DYNAMITE KISS!
Stay ColorFull,
